Gold medalAscend Education announced today that Valley High School in Sanders, AZ and Holabird STEM Program in Baltimore, MD were selected from among 18 Gold Medalists to receive the 2014 Ascend Math Gold Medal Leader Award.  In addition, Grimes Elementary School in Chicago, IL was named Exceptional First Year Implementation.

The Gold Medal Award was established in 2010 to honor the schools or districts that best demonstrates a dedication to ensuring that all students become successful at math. The Gold Medal nominees all used Ascend Math as their math intervention solution to assist struggling students. The three judges looked at the challenges each nominee faced and the results they achieved to arrive at their decision.

“All eighteen Gold Medalists demonstrated exceptional progress in helping students succeed in math,” said Kevin Briley, CEO of Ascend Education. “All are deserving of praise.  We are extremely proud of what these educators have accomplished this year.”

Each Gold Medal Award recipient will receive a special reception in their honor to be announced at a later date.  The Honor Roll of all nominees can be viewed at http://ascendmath.com/gold_nominees_2014.html
